This cistern/hand basin combination is the hygienic solution to save space and water in really small bathrooms.
Space is saved because no separate basin needs to be fitted, and water is saved because the tank remains empty between flushes - no leaking possible.
when the flush button is pushed down, hands can be washed in water being let in at the top of the cistern. Once the tank is filled up to the specified level (between 4 - 9 litres) it flushes automatically.
