I brought this pendant back from Toledo in Spain. The region is known for its rather distinctive jewellery design and manufacturing process. Its called damascening, the word coming from "damask silk" because of its resemblance to tapestry work. They create it, they inlay either gold or silver into a dark oxidized steel background to create the pattern. I bought this one while I was there a few years ago.
