Tommy Motswai - Standard Bank Young Artist Award 1992

Born on May 27, 1963, in Johannesburg, Tommy Motswai, despite being deaf, emerged as a prolific and accomplished artist, capturing the essence of his surroundings using pastels on paper. In his own expressions, he shared, I like to draw happy people doing ordinary things like travelling on buses, talking and singing, in places I know well, like Soweto.
