TONY HAWK'S DOWNHILL JAM IS A SKATEBOARDING VIDEO GAME IN THE TONY HAWK'S SERIES. THE GAME, NAMED AFTER THE GAME LEVEL "DOWNHILL JAM" FROM TONY HAWK'S PRO SKATER GAME SERIES, WAS PUBLISHED BY ACTIVISION IN 2007 FOR PS2. The core idea of a racing game within the Tony Hawk universe was initially considered for the very first Tony Hawk game, but was later revisited for Downhill Jam. Unlike the core Tony Hawk games, Downhill Jam emphasized speed and racing, with players competing to reach the finish line and achieve high scores. 
 
Tony Hawk's DownHill Jam delivers an innovative and unique skateboard experience. For the first time ever, the game allows players to feel the breakneck speed of downhill competition as they tear up the world's steepest terrains while performing tricks and outmaneuvering opponents in such locations as San Francisco, Machu Picchu and Hong Kong.
 
Taking on the role of Tony Hawk or one of nine characters, players compete in time-based challenges in one of three gameplay modes including race, trick and slalom. Gamers can also challenge friends in head-to-head competitions with up to four players as they pull off a variety of high-velocity stunts and crashes in living, populated environments filled with cars, pedestrians and buildings.
