This gem comes from Ethiopia, source of the highest and best quality Contra Luz Crystal Opal world-wide.  Ethiopian Opals are the most valued of ALL opals on the current market, by far exceeding quality of Mexican or Honduran stones. Commercially mined for less than 10 years, end of mining is predicted in 12-15 year time. Typical retail of these gems lies close to 3.000,-USD per carat.
