IncludedCarpenter pencils are easier to grip than standard pencils, because they have a
larger surface area. The non-round core allows thick or thin lines to be drawn
by rotating the pencil. Thin lines are required for precision markings and thick
markings are needed to mark on rough surfaces.
The pencils are robust to survive in a construction environment. Carpenter
pencils are also used by builders, because it is also suitable for marking on
rough surfaces, such as stone or concrete.
The set includes a pencil sharpener specifically designed for carpenter pencils
to give a clean sharp point. The sharpener is safer and easier to use compared
to a utility knife.

TIP:
Notching the middle of the lead with the corner of a file makes it possible to
draw two parallel lines at once. The parallel lines might resemble the kerf of a
saw blade
