Mini Router Bit

Shape: Straight
Shank Diameter: Ø3.2mm
Tip Diameter: Ø4.8mm

This Mini Straight Router Bit is a versatile and essential tool for craftsmen, model makers, and DIY enthusiasts who
require precise, medium-width channels on a smaller scale. Featuring a 4.8mm cutting diameter and a standard 3.2mm
(1/8') shank, it is perfectly sized for use with high-speed rotary tools and miniature router attachments. This
specific diameter offers a sturdy middle ground, providing more material removal than a micro-bit while maintaining
the agility needed for intricate hobby work.

The bit is specifically engineered for slotting, grooving, and plunging into a variety of materials. Because it
features a flat-bottom cutting geometry, it produces perfectly vertical sidewalls and a smooth, level base within
the cut. This makes it an ideal choice for milling tracks for small sliding doors, creating recessed channels for
inlay work, or cutting precise dadoes and mortises for architectural models and dollhouse furniture.

In addition to joinery, this 4.8mm straight bit is excellent for clean-out and template work. Its wider cutting
surface compared to micro-straight bits allows you to clear out larger areas of material more efficiently while
still fitting into relatively tight corners. The high-quality cutting edges are designed to eject chips quickly,
which helps prevent heat buildup and ensures a crisp, burn-free finish in both hardwoods and softwoods.

Designed for stability and accuracy, the bit's balanced construction minimizes vibration even at high RPMs. Whether
you are freehand carving, following a guide for a straight edge, or milling a custom groove for electronic
components in a hobby project, this mini straight bit provides the professional-grade control required for
high-definition woodworking and repair tasks.

Fitting the tool bit

The shank of the rotary cutter is securely locked in place by fitting
it in the corresponding collet or making use of a keyless chuck.

For improved engraving accuracy, make use of a flexible
shaft connected to the rotary engraver.

Rotation speed:

Most rotary tools have the benefit to adjust the rotation speed. Many tool bits that fit in rotary tools have a maximum speed setting. This can normally be found on the packaging.

All materials react differently to speed and will need the tool bit to rotate slower.
It is recommended to start using accessories on the slower speed first, before increasing the speed as needed.

The diameter of the tool bit fitted also determines the rotation speed. The larger the diameter, the slower the speed. If the speed is set too high, it could bend the shank/shaft resulting in injury.
