Mini Router Bit

Shape: Core Box
Shank Diameter: Ø3.2mm
Tip Diameter: Ø6.4mm

This Mini Core Box Router Bit is a high-precision tool designed for woodworkers, hobbyists, and model makers who
require clean, rounded grooves on a miniature scale. Featuring a 6.4mm cutting diameter and a standard 3.2mm (1/8')
shank, this bit is perfectly sized for use with high-speed rotary tools and small-scale router attachments. Its
compact design allows for intricate detailing that larger, industrial-sized bits simply cannot achieve.

The primary function of this bit is to cut smooth, U-shaped channels and decorative flutes into the surface of your
workpiece. Because it lacks a pilot bearing, it is an incredibly versatile 'plunge-style' bit, allowing you to start
a cut anywhere on the board. This makes it the ideal choice for carving out custom sign lettering, creating juice
grooves on small serving boards, or adding architectural fluting to miniature columns and trim.

Beyond its decorative uses, the core box bit is highly functional for technical projects. It is frequently used by
luthiers and crafters to create rounded wire channels or to hollow out recessed areas in delicate wood components.
The 6.4mm radius provides a soft, consistent curve that eliminates the sharp internal corners where dust or debris
might otherwise collect, ensuring a professional and polished interior finish.

Engineered for stability and precision, the bit is optimized to handle high-RPM applications with minimal vibration.
The high-quality cutting geometry ensures clean, burr-free results in both hardwoods and softwoods, as well as
various composite materials. Whether you are fluting a tiny furniture leg or milling a custom track, this mini core
box bit offers the accuracy and control needed for superior micro-woodworking.

Fitting the tool bit

The shank of the rotary cutter is securely locked in place by fitting
it in the corresponding collet or making use of a keyless chuck.

For improved engraving accuracy, make use of a flexible
shaft connected to the rotary engraver.

Rotation speed:

Most rotary tools have the benefit to adjust the rotation speed. Many tool bits that fit in rotary tools have a maximum speed setting. This can normally be found on the packaging.

All materials react differently to speed and will need the tool bit to rotate slower.
It is recommended to start using accessories on the slower speed first, before increasing the speed as needed.

The diameter of the tool bit fitted also determines the rotation speed. The larger the diameter, the slower the speed. If the speed is set too high, it could bend the shank/shaft resulting in injury.
