Enlight’s TRACKMANIA SUNRISE for the PC is a racing game with a large number of tracks and vehicles, but it doesn’t end there. The game allows players to create their own courses using the game’s built-in editor. And while getting to the finish line is important, the game also lets players let loose with tricks that only crazy Hollywood stuntmen would ever attempt. Single player mode has a number of options. In most of them, the other cars aren’t exactly opponents; rather, each represents a set time for the course. In order to get the gold medal, for example, players have to beat the gold car. Besides the time trial mode, there are other goal-specific modes like ramp mode, where the goal is to ramp over a minimum number of checkpoints, and puzzle races, where players are given track puzzle pieces to place in order to get across the course. The track editor in TRACKMANIA SUNRISE is an upgraded, expanded version of the one that came with the original TRACKMANIA. It offers nearly total freedom in designing a course, allowing players to create just about any track they can imagine. Plus, players can now put their tracks online for other players to download. Online racing is also available and contains all the options of the single-player mode. For gamers who enjoy racing, stunts, and creating their own customized tracks, TRACKMANIA SUNRISE delivers, and the ability to go online and share courses with other players scores the game a gold medal. | |
