They are triggered when they detect movement.
The camera gousing has a flap down LCD screen protector.
The camera resolution is 16 megapixel, this results in a wider format image that is more likely to capture animals moving across the lens.
The motion detection angle has now been increased from 90 degrees to 120 degrees.
Trigger speed has been halved and is now an incredible 0.5 seconds.
Time lapse photography feature:
With the previous MEERKAT cameras, it was not possible to capture images of objects that were not able to trigger the motion sensor.
The time lapse feature makes it possible to photograph cold blooded animals, insects and plants.
You can set the camera to take a photo every 4 hours over a period of months.
This makes it possible to watch termites building a mound or a spider making a web.
It is also a very useful tool if you are farming & would like to monitor crop or animal growth over a period of time.
GSM Functions:
Camera comes standard with a high gain antenna for areas with poor reception.
Camera can be set to send images to your mobile phone and or your e-mail address.
The camera can be controlled remotely using SMS commands from your mobile phone.
Solar panel:
Your camera comes with 8 rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride cells.
The solar panel with built in regulator keeps the batteries in your camera charged when you need your camera to function in remote locations for long periods of time.
