Transkei Special Forces Cap / Beret Badge – Leopard Head with Wings

Short Description
Original Transkei Special Forces cap badge featuring the winged leopard head emblem.

Full Description
This item is an authentic Transkei Special Forces cap or beret badge.
The design shows a snarling leopard head with outstretched wings, positioned above a scroll that reads SPECIAL FORCES. This distinctive emblem was used by the elite unit of the Transkei Defence Force.

The text visible in the image, SPRODAM FORG, is part of the manufacturers mark found on the reverse side of the badge.

The badge originates from the Republic of Transkei, one of the former independent homelands during the apartheid era (circa 19811994). The unit was initially trained and shaped by former Rhodesian Special Air Service and Selous Scouts personnel, giving it a strong connection to Southern African special forces history. A rare and highly collectable badge.
