This would have been the state of the art traveling accessories.

Complete with fitted multi sized drawers (including a shoe compartment), hangers on extendable rods behind a curtain.

It even still has the leather clasps for holding a walking cane.

Bolt action locks the drawers in place

Original handles

Is a little moth eaten - but is delightful.

This trunk held my grandmothers cloths when we came to South Africa from UK in 1971 on a mail ship. Probably it's last voyage of many across those waters.
