The Treasures from the Royal Collecton. A cased set of gold-plated sterling silver replicas of British and Commonwealth stamps . In addition to the stamps the set cointains:
- A booklet describing the stamps with a portrait of King George V on the front.
- The CoA stating a maximum mintage of 10,000 sets.
- A photographic arrangement of the stamps in colour.
- A cloth cover sheet.
- A picker to lift up the stamps from their fitting.
They key is missing and at some stage the case has been forced open damaging the locking mechanism.
South African Sterling Silver hallmarks for 1985 (L) on the back. Maker's mark: "ET+" for E. Tiessen (Pty) Ltd of Johannesburg. Despite being made here the sets were marketed out of the UK.
Total weight 442gm (458 less 16gm, the weight of the tray).
