Tree Aloes Of Africa - Ernst Van Jaarsveld & Eric Judd
Aloes and the flat-topped Acacia species are characteristic of the African landscape and are true icon species of Africa. Aloes remain one of the most popular garden succulents due to their attractive flowers, their appealing architecture and ease of growth.
Their diversity in growth form allows a plant for each situation. They grow in varied habitats such as the dry Namib Desert along the southwestern coast of Africa, to the moist forest from eastern Africa, to open grasslands, from almost sea level to 3000m of the Drakensberg Escarpment.
Tree Aloes of Africa deals with seven African tree aloes, six of the section Dracoaloe, of which three grow in the western half of Africa and three in the eastern half.
