TREE GRAPE
Cyphostemma Juttae
You are bidding on 5 seeds
A slow growing succulent with a swollen trunk. White, drooping, papery pieces of bark on the yellow green stems helps to reflect away the sunlight in summer in order to keep the plant cool. The thick, fleshy stem and leaves act as water reservoirs in times of drought. Can grow up to 2m tall. Leaves are large and shiny. Flowers are inconspicuous but the large, grape-like bunches of bright wine-coloured berries near the end of summer are beautiful. Suitable for pots or direct in the garden.
Sowing: Sow in Winter (June to August). Although they take some time to germinate, success is almost guaranteed. Plant in well-drained loamy or sandy soil. Be careful not to overwater. These trees can survive with very little water and overwatering can kill them. Keep the plants dry during the winter months.
Sowing instructions will be emailed after purchase
