Only 1000 copies were printed and survival is low. An important publication that was reissued by the State Library in 1969 as number 43 in their series of reprints. This is the 1894 first issue, complete with map. A very important 'Trek' book that covers (amongst others) the Rhodesian treks.

Hardcover. Afrikaans text. An extremely rare first edition text. D. F. du Toit & Co., Paarl. 1894. Various individually numbered pages per chapter. Strikingly rebacked in green cloth with most of the original front and back covers, original poor quality paper is damaged around the title page. Folding map is complete with tears at folds.
