TRENDnet has launched the TN-200 NAS Media Server that can support 2 hard drives with a total of up to 8 TB storage. Of course, the hard drives need to be bought separately. It features two 3.5" bays to accommodate two SATA I/II hard drives in RAID 0, RAID 2, or JBOD configuration. It supports USB share functionality with its USB port so that any USB storage device can be connected to it and its content be shared with everyone on the network. A Gigabit Ethernet port is present for connectivity.
The TN-200 is DLNA certified, so you can set up your own media server to stream HD videos to a smart TV, tablets, or mobile phones. In case you are wondering, it also has iTunes media server. Remote access can be configured using FTP server. The TN-200 can manage quotas for up to 256 user accounts and 32 groups. Files can be downloaded using the inbuilt BitTorrent client or from an FTP site with download monitors and SMS download alert. File-level backup is available with support for Apple Time Machine.
