Q: DO YOUR STONES COMES WITH CERTIFICATES?
A: Generally: NO. The reason for this is that GENUINE certificates are actually very expensive to obtain. Qualified gemologists, affiliated to the big gem labs, such as EGL, DIA or AGL charge good money for issuing these certificates, as this is a very specialised skill, and generally, for the smaller stones I put up for sale, it's simply not worth my while to order the certificates, which can cost anywhere from R300 to R1000 to produce. That brings me to my next point: there are a great number of sellers (including on BidorBuy I'm afraid) who either issue their own certificates (which are actually about worth as much as the paper they're printed on, i.e. NOTHING), or they have gotten hold of FAKE certificates (anyone with a computer and PhotoShop can create these certificates). Read the ratings, read the BoB community watch bulletins, there are major league scam artists out there, trying to make you believe you're getting a R100 000 stone for R1000 or R2000! Remember: if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!
