It has a base where water is placed then a perforated bowl which allows steam from the base to pass through. Micro waves are deflected from this bowl as it has an inner which deflects the waves thereby allowing for food only to be cooked by the steam.

The MicroGourmet is the best way to steam in the microwave by blocking the microwaves from cooking the food directly and directing the waves to the water in the Water Tray (4).
The water then steams the contents which are inside through the Steamer Base (3) and the Colander Tray (2).
The Colander Tray (2) can stack in the Steamer Base (3) to hold different capacities and to have two different heights for flatter
or bigger foods. The Colander Tray (2) can be completely removed for steaming bulky foods like cauliflower.
Steaming is a well-known method that allows fat-free cooking while retaining nutrients and vitamins. Steaming does not mean bland food.
You can steam any type of food such as vegetables, fruits, fish or poultry in your MicroGourmet, but also reheat leftovers or steam food from frozen.
You can make a whole meal in the MicroGourmet by placing, for example, the vegetables in the Steamer Base (3) and the fish or poultry in the Colander Tray (2).
