Turmeric also known as curcumin is an easy keeper in the garden that will never leave you without this herb again. As long as they get water and they are in full sun, they thrive. They will also tolerate semi shade areas and make for a beautiful display of flowers late summer. When they die back in winter, they need little to no water. I mulch mine with bark chips and maybe water deep once every month in winter. In spring your turmeric will come back like there is no tomorrow in spring.
So you can either split these roots up or plant as is in your container or garden bed.
