It's a very sweet book, with lots of wholesome stories. There isn't lots of drama and tragedy that you find in the older books, but still has some similar characters such as the problem solver nurse, the clumsy humorous girl and the magical character.
Twinkle was a popular British comic for girls, published by D. C. Thomson & Co. Ltd.The series ran from 27 January 1968 to 1999 and comprised 1612 issues. There was also a Twinkle Summer Special series, as well as the Twinkle Annual
Twinkle was one of the comics honoured by the Royal Mail with a commemorative stamp, along with The Beano, The Dandy, Eagle, The Topper, Roy of the Rovers, Bunty, Buster, Valiant and 2000 AD.
