During WW2 the Commonwealth Forces such as the SAAF / SALM units wore badges with the Tudor Crown and the Fish Eagle of the South African Air Force with the Ad Aspera Ad Astra Motto. A set of rather rare 1940's badges. The two UDF / SAAF 1940's badges are part of the Militaria Collection of Lt Col AD Irvine who served in the Union Defence Force in North Africa and Europe during WW2 and for the South African Air Force.
