These spectacular and beautifully hand carved original "Audrey Rudnick" palm leaf Pod people carvings have been mounted on a wooded base. The carvings measures 130cm tall and 140cm tall. The carvings have some age related wear and tear which I think adds to the authenticity of the piece. Please view the pics carefully to fully appreciate these truly stunning carvings and to confirm the condition. The one carving has had a minor repair where it joins.

Audrey's unique design of the "Pod People" reached a selective audience and has since created a strong following. Her portfolio consists out of a violinist, flutist, trumpet player, bird tree, shhh tree and several ethnic woman - the Masai, Zulu, Xhosa and Ndebele. These unique pieces of art are created from a resin/clay composite and flows into a palmpod to round off this very elegant looking sculpture.

The Pod People comprises a Palm frond or leaf (Petiole) attached to or standing on a free standing base. Attached to this palm frond Audrey has attached Torsos (waist to top of head) figurines (although her patent allows her to put anything or nothing atop of a palm frond). In her own way, Audrey has joined the figurine to the palm Frond where they appear to be the same material or object. Audrey makes on average 30 Pods a month keeping them exclusive.
