You are bidding on TWO copper/brass Imitation ZAR One pond coins.
The auction is for both coins and includes the more common 1896 Immitation One Pond which comes up for auction every so often BUT the auction also contains the more scarces undated "1 POND IMITATION".
Note the one coin has the word IMITATION in the banner below the coat of arms while the other has it in the title at the top of the token/coin.
If you look at the obverse of the coins, you can see the bust of Paul Kruger is one looks to be more rough, "child like created", while the other almost appears true to form of those that occur on real ZAR coins.
Both coins are in very good condition, almost EF I would say!
Not sure why these coins were minted or by who (have seen many speculations on Bid or Buy, namely it being a gaming token, or forgery, or medallion type commerative hand outs etc) but they are interesting pieces.
I have seen a number of varieties of this type of coin, and here are two on offer, one as mentioned before has been on bid or buy every so often but the other seems to be much more scarce. Have you got these?
