History of the U. S. Classic
The U.S. Classic is a very unusual knife. It is not a generic clone of some familiar pattern, but a faithful reproduction of an antique knife worth hundreds of dollars. Earl Collins, knife designer has collaborated with a well known collector of antique knives from Kentucky, who has collected antique knives for over 35 years and is well known across America as an antique knife expert, has gone thru his vast collection of valuable antique knives and picked a selection of favorites from the 1920's 30's, and 40's. These are Robeson, Cattaraugus, Remington, Boker, Case, and a number of other well-known knife manufacturers. These original knives are worth a fortune and can no longer be bought [unless you are a rich person]. Mr. Collins then allows the U.S. Classic Manufacturer to disassemble the valuable antique knifes and faithfully reproduce them, down to every detail. Of course, they re-assemble his knifes and send it back to him. What we end up with is a beautiful Antique Reproduction Pocket Knife that is reasonably priced. These knives have class, they are like a piece of art, with their long pulls, crimped and slanted bolsters, and fancy shields in the handle. There is a limited production run of 1200 knives for each style. The bone handles have been jigged and dyed to match the old colors and textures. Already some styles are sold out and the price is going up, up, up. Unless you attend National Knife Shows, you won't have the opportunity to buy these knives. This is the only knife company in the world that is producing Antique Reproduction knives on this scale. This new series is a combination of the old knives and custom knife design. We are honored to be an authorized distributor for U.S. Classic Knives.
