SOME UNLESS INFORMATION ( in the Great War to end all wars from 1914 to 1918 the soliders in the trenches , past our time making 

items to use or to sent home, they used items they found or had in the trenches at the time they also would have been able to make

to much noise at the time,  flaws as of the age and been polished over many years the print is hard to make out so if I am mistaken 

Honestly just what I can make out or think its what it says (  NEW York  { this is why I am saying its US Military soldier )  September 1916 ) the marking under looks like HF CROWN
