Met die opvoering van die stuk in die Pretoriase Stadsaal het die diepbewoe gehoor onder die indruk van die magtige werk van die Griekse Drama gekom. Die ewig-menslike het oor die eeue heen niks van sy krag ingeboet om tot die diepste roersele van die hart deur te dring nie. Elkeen wat die voorreg gehad het om dr. Wassenaar as gids deur die skoonheid van die Griekse Drama te vergesel, sal met blydskap hom oor die lengte en breedte van Griekeland volg. As kunstenaar skilder hy ons in woord die lewendige taferele en kunsskatte wat uit die puin van die Oudheid gered is. Ek hoop dat die jeug op ons skole alle geleentheid sal kry om met dr. Wassenaar se Reisbeskrywing kennis te maak. Griekeland was die bakermat van ons Westerse beskawing. Daar het die vryheidsvlam hoog opgelaai, die skeppende krag nuwe bane ingeslaan en is skoonheid met eenvoud gepaard. Boeiend en onderhoudend is die Periegesis van ons Afrikaanse Pausanias en sal, as die tye weer normaal word menigeen na Hellas lok om op sy beurt onder die betowering van die grootse skeppinge van hierdie begaafde volk te kom.
