The American elm is a fast growing large deciduous tree native to eastern North America. It’s arching spreading habit, handsome dark green foliage, and tolerance of city conditions made it the quintessential shade tree. Being adaptable to heat and cold climates, this deciduous shade tree will grow in moist or dry soil once established. Tree prefer full sun and well-drained soil, and work well as street trees or on large properties. It is the largest and most widespread Elm in the US and will grow 21 meters in height with a spread of 9 meters.
