PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The HDP50 is the pistol variant to the HDR50 that was released at the time, whose revolutionary bump-cap, calibre size and low running cost paired w/ its comparatively low startup cost, took the entire home defence market by storm. Never before or since, has a product been released that features its balance of power, shot count / gas economy, portability, 20 meter accuracy, reliability and versatility of ammunition options, all for a budget price. This gun has most certainly brought hope back for many who went through the 4.5mm gas gun phase, spents thousands on trying to acquire the right tool, but encountered only disappointments, both with lack of actual stopping power and reliability.

However now, we've brought on-board, the HDP50 - specific for customers who're not fond of the revolver design and desire a pistol shaped alternative to the HDR50, but don't necessarily want to opt for the TiPX, due to its beefiness.

-------

This pistol has a large frame and has a vague Beretta-esque appearance to it, with the addition of the otherwise imposing calibre visible on the pistol's muzzle-end. It is of a lightweight polymer composition, which will not corrode and not show mild abbrasion marks readily. We do appreciate that this pistol features all the realistic featurees of a pistol moulded in, such as the blow-back rod tip under the muzzle end of the barrel, the ejection port, extractor, bulky and pronounced cocking serrations, slide catch release and the right handed magazine release. The shortened beaver tail at the appex of the handle's rear does add a nice feel as well. Above that, we have the striker fire / lack of actuating hammer, which is quite realistic, reminescent of the Sig Sauer P320 / CZ 75 P-09. The steel nub that would protrude to indicate that the gun is hot, is a similar feature to what the Sig Sauer P320 has, to indicate that the sear is engaged once the slide is racked.

Otherwise, you have the make and calbre markings etched on the right face of the gun, just above the printed serial, whereas on the other side, you have the "T4E" series and the model under that etched in the middle of the slide.

Ths gun is a two-piece clamshell retained by several 2mm pins that should be punched out from right to left, not the other way around, as the left side of ther pins are serrated for retention.

In terms of ergonomy, we feel that the scallops down the frontal side of this handle is more pronounced and the thorough stippling does add positive traction to one's bare hand. The pivot on the backstrap makes for a good resting point for the thenar region of the hand. The thumb rest further allows the hand to better mould to this pistol and here we have to state that the HDP50 is ergonomically better designed than the HDR50.

The double blade trigger safety is a welcom e GLOCK-esque feature, though for the power that this gun packs, a thumb safety would be a necessity, especially since you do not need a license to procure this gun. Without gun competency, something like this can be a serious hazard.
The double blade trigger lacks the finesse that the HDR50 has in our opinion, since we do appreciate the hair-fine feel to it. This one has a bit of a clanky feel to it / the trigger breaks slightly hefty, which isn't too bad, as the muzzle jerk that this trigger causes is less compared to the HDR50.

The open sights on this gun is quite something, w/ a three point fibre optic insert type. The HDR50 however, does come w/ a picatinny rail integrated onto the top to mount a holographic sight, though out of the box, the HDP50 in terms of target acquisition, is superior.

In terms of loading this pistol up - it is breech loaded like a pump action shotgun, where the rounds are inserted one at a time at the rear of the underbarrel picatinny rail. Just mind however, that you do not mount a laser or flashlight that will hamper you from reloading your gun.

This gun loads up 6 round and accepts ONLY SOLIDS. Please do not discharge pepper, chalk and / or paint through this gun, as it will get chopped and will jam your gun up.

The bumpcap assembly on this gun is identical to those of of its like in UMAREX' T4E range in that, you remove the cap either by the supplied galvinized allen key or this nifty tool we manufacture.

Once removed, feel free to insert your 12g CO2 capsule upside down into the pressure chamber concealed inside of the handle and thread the bump cap back up - hand tightening should usually suffice if you have a firm grip.

Once you need to use this pistol / fire it, just bump the orange part of the cap. The steel nubb where the hammer would normally sit / at the rearmost of the slide, will then protrude to indicate that the gun is pressurized and you should then be able to start shooting with this gun.
Bear in mind that each 12G CO2 capsule will give you about 18 usable shots, on this 11 J variant. The 7.5J variant should give you about 24 - 30.
