Fighting For A Divided People. Larger format softcover- first edition by Thula Bopela and Daluxolo Luthuli, published 2005. This landmark book is the first memoir written by men who actually fought as guerrillas with any of the liberation forces of countries in Southern Africa. The authors joined the liberation struggle as young men in the early 1960s when they left South Africa to join the ranks of MK in Tanzania. After receiving military training in the Soviet Union they fought alongside Joshua Nkomo's ZIPRA in Rhodesia. The book follows the fortunes of the two young freedom fighters through years of bush warfare/capture/imprisonment/political opposition through to the 1994 election 272 pages. Illustrated. Excellent condition with wear to top back corner.
