Unifi UAP-ac-LR-5 LR

Just a few comments about this Ubiquiti Unifi LR AP as there are plenty of other reviews.

1 - Coverage is genuinely very good.
2 - The product was up and running in minutes and performance was/is great. I have serious channel crowding issues and this appears to overcome them.
3 - As it's power over ethernet, you need 2 x cat5e cables - one from switch to PoE injector unit and another from PoE unit to the access point.
4 - You'll need to download the configuration software from the Ubuquiti site to set the thing up. For the MAC, you'll need to over-ride protection to install the package.
5 - It's not like a router, there's no web server running on the unit - the downloaded software will discover the device if you're on the same layer 2 network and then you configure it via a local web page.
6 - There are a huge number of features - I'm using just a few (multi SSID with VLANs). The software is designed for management of multiple access points if you need to expand. Lots of metrics about connectivity can be gathered etc

No damage to the units, they got setup initially then never touched again
