Union Internment Camp 2/- Token (Very Scarce)
Internment camps were operated at various localities in South Africa during the Second World War. These tokens were issued to German and Italian Prisoners-of-War.
After the war the tokens were effectively withdrawn and destroyed by the Pretoria Mint.
They are very scarce today and are catalogued from R1500 up to R10 000.
