Issued during the Union of South Africas 19261954 definitive series, this ½d stamp features the head of a Springbok, framed by an ornate wreath design.
It symbolised the countrys national identity and was one of the most widely used definitive values.
This example is a mint bilingual pair (SOUTH AFRICA / SUID-AFRIKA) in turquoise-green and black, with crisp engraving and well-centred margins.
Although the gum is no longer present, the front presentation is excellent, making it ideal for collectors of early Union definitives.
