UNION SPECIAL:
Union Special is the old American Swiss (Jewellers) house brand. American Swiss first opened its doors in Cape Town in 1896. Now, more than a 100 years later, they are South Africa's leading jeweller, with stores located countrywide. They started using the brand 'Union Special' in 1928. American Swiss is now part of the Foschini Group since 1967 here in South Africa and I think that they produced the Union Specials up until the point they joined the group.
