Each coin in this series, 38 in total, will only be minted for a period of 6 weeks by the USA Mint.  This coin, being the first in the series, is already sold out at the USA Mint.  Here is your change to start this unique collection.

The United States is honoring the Nation's presidents by issuing $1 circulating coins featuring their images in the order that they served.  The USA Mint will mint and issue 4 Presidential $1 coins per year, starting with the first President George Washington.  This coin was officially released on 15 February 2007 at a ceremony at the Grand Central Station Terminal in New York City.  A total of 38 Presidents will be honored from 2007 to 2016.

OBVERSE - The obverse has the portrait and the inscriptions : George Washington at the top and 1st President 1789 - 1797 at the bottom.

REVERSE - The reverse features a striking rendition of the Statue of Liberty and the inscriptions : United States of America and $1.

The usual mottos: "E Pluribus Unum" and "In God We Trust" as well as the date and mintmark were moved to the edge of the coin.

I will be offering all the coins in the series as they become available - A Total of 38 coins in

all. The next coin to follow is the 2nd President John Adams 1797 - 1801 which was

released 17 May 2007.  3rd President Thomas Jefferson (1801 - 1809) will be released

during August 2007 and 4th President James Madison (1809 - 1817) in November 2007.
