Unique Gloucestershire Regiment Egypt insignia hand-embroidered cloth

This was most likely not made in Egypt, since the word "Egypt" and the sphinx have been part of the official regimental insignia since 1830, when they held the line against Napoleon in the Battle of Alexandria. .

This cloth was probably made around WW1. Please see the damage to the front layer of cloth above the sphinx.
