Crane's water babies designs are still highly sought-after by collectors today. In 2017, a Royal Staffordshire Pottery Wilkinson, Burslem bowl with a water babies design sold for £1,200 at auction.

The designs were inspired by the book "The Water Babies" by Charles Kingsley.
The designs featured stylized water babies with human features.
The designs were produced in a variety of colors, including blue, green, and yellow.
The designs were used to decorate a variety of objects, including bowls, plates, figurines, and tea sets.

Olive Crane was an Australian artist who was born in Ashfield, Sydney, in 1895. She studied at the Julian Ashton Art School and the University of Sydney, and was a contemporary of Grace Crowley and Myra Cocks. Crane was known for her stylized aesthetic, and her work often featured simplified forms and bold colors. She was also a talented book illustrator, and her work appeared in a number of publications, including The Bulletin and The Lone Hand.

Crane's career was relatively short, as she died in 1936 at the age of 41. However, she made a significant contribution to Australian art, and her work is still admired today. Some of her most famous works include "The Cub" (1923), "The Bathers" (1925), and "The Garden" (1929). - Source: Bard.
