Heavy Studio Art Pottery Vase with Face Motifs Salt Glaze Style Unmarked 27.5cm

This striking and unusually heavy studio pottery vase features four sculpted face motifs around its body, each expressive and unique. The surface is coated in a thick, glossy glaze in variegated tones of green, cream, and cobalt bluereminiscent of salt glaze techniques, though it may also be a high-temperature ash or soda glaze.

• Material: white stoneware not ceramic

• Height: Approximately 27.5 cm

• Color: Green and blue mottled glaze with creamy undertones

• Glaze: Very thick, drippy, glossy; inside fully glazed; base unglazed

• Design Features: Four faces sculpted in relief, positioned around the vase

• Condition: One face has a  chip on the nose. There is some rusty discoloration on the unglazed base, likely from firing marks or shelf residue.
