WARRANT OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF SOUTH AFRICA FOR THE INSTITUTION OF THE "UNITAS MEDAL-UNITAS-MEDALJE"

To all to whom these presents may come:

Greetings!

WHEREAS I deem it desirable to commemorate the unification of defence forces and armed forces on the 27th day of April 1994 and thereafter and I deem it appropriate to distinguish the members of the said forces in an appropriate manner;

NOW, THEREFORE, by virtue of the powers granted to me in terms of section 82 (1) (e) of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1993 (Act No. 200 of 1993), I hereby institute a medal, which shall be known as the "Unitas Medal-Unitasmedalje" which shall be reserved exclusively for that purpose and I further ordain that, henceforth, the Rules and Regulations embodied in the Schedule hereto, shall govern the design and award of the said medal as well as the forfeiture, annulment and restoration of an award of that medal.
