 332nd Medical Brigade Insignia Patch

Original Combat(ACU) Patch

The 332nd Medical Brigade was originally constituted in the Army as the 69th Medical Regiment on 7 August 1942 and activated at Camp Maxey, Texas on 25 September 1942. It was subsequently reorganized and redesignated as 69th Medical Group on 4 September 1943; it was under this designation that the Brigade earned credit for participation in five campaigns in the European theater during World War. Inactivated between November 1945 and October 1948, the unit was again reorganized/redesignated, this time as the Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 332nd Medical Group, and allotted to the Organized Reserve (which became the Army Reserve in 1952). In 1959, the unit was inactivated again, and upon its reactivation in May 1985 it was given its current designation.

Approval for the 332nd Medical Brigade Shoulder Sleeve Insignia, or unit patch, came on 5 August 1985, three months after it received Brigade designation. The overall shape of the insigniaand oval on top connected to a V-shaped bottomrecalls medicine and surgery, with the top resembling a medicinal capsule and the bottom the edge of a surgical scalpel. Three stars in the upper part of the field are a reference to the Tennessee state flag, the units home base. A cross symbolizes medical care
