It can also be used in the front brake lines to reduce pressure.The Residual Valve is typically used on the disc or drum brake lines, Disc hold 2 lbs and drum Holds 10 lbs of pressure. This valve is mounted in the brake line when the master cylinder is located below the floor or the calipers or valves are higher than the master cylinders. The function of the valve is to prevent the back flow of fluid to the master cylinder and keep a small amount of pressure in the line.
