This is what you get - a brand new     21.6Mbps      Huawei UMG  1831 in its retail box.

 I took one of these modems out of box and used it for 5 minutes with Vodacom sim card ... works perfectly.

 I therefore assume MTN will work as well ... since this is a network UNLOCKED MODEM.
