Benjamin Haskins is an artist interested in symbols and stories and their connection to the social-ecological context that they inhabit. In the series Unmade, Haskins draws inspiration from the traces of found materials and objects left discarded on the streets of Cape Town. He interrupts these objects' journey to decay, capturing abstract imagery left by intentional and unintentional human actions. This series both documents and reinterprets the aesthetic of urbanness. It is about exploring the visual language of the city-a language that is replete with nuance and humour and always in a constant state of flux.
