BAMBARA (BAMANA) PEOPLE OF MALI:
The Bambara people have thousands of years old history in West Africa. They are part of the ethnolinguistic group of the Mandé. The Bambara of Mali make up 80% of the ethnic groups in Mali. While the majority of the population today is Muslim, the name Bambara comes from their rejection of Islam and means unbeliever or infidel.
