Offered for sale is a fine and unusual yellow ground Chinese porcelain vase decorated in the famille rose style ; the vase has a classical bottle shape with a tapering cylindrical body, and tall neck with a slightly flared convex rim. The vase is hand painted in bright onglaze polychrome enamels with the body of the vase in a vibrant daffodil or canary yellow with contrasting dark red and cobalt blue borders at the midpoint /shoulder of the vase and the upper rim of the neck . The interior of the vase is celadon green with a gilt upper rim. The body of the vase is decorated with two fan shaped cartouches with delicate hand painting of three courtesans in traditional attire in a garden setting. The exterior of the vase is richly patterned with interlocking abstract patterns or curlicues together with a repeated motif of flowers and blossoms , foliage and tradional round abstract symbols of longevity . The base of the vase has a blue underglaze Qing dynasty Qianlong mark which is likely a tribute mark/honorific mark reading Da Qing Qianlong Nianzhi. Most likely this vase was made in the early 20th Century. Size is : height 23cm ; width across the middle of the vase 10cm ; top round aperture 7.5cm ; base 6.5cm .
