Unusual Double Head Wooden Mask

A WOODEN MASK WITH AN UNUSUAL DOUBLE HUMAN HEAD CARVED ON UPPER FOREHEAD. THE ELONGATED FACE HAS A LONG SLENDER CARVED NOSE AND BEARD CARVED BELOW HIS MOUTH. HIS EYES HAS A ZOMBIE ALIEN LIKE APPEARANCE.
 
THE ONLY REMOTELY SIMILAR MASKS THAT I COULD FIND IS FROM THE  BAULE / BAOULE PEOPLES, COTE D'IVOIRE, IVORY COAST, WEST AFRICA. The Baule are one of a number of African groups who believe that before birth, human beings all had Blolo bla (spirit wife) and Blolo bian (spirit husband) spouses in the other world who can influence their lives. Baule artists and their nearby neighbours seem to be the only artists in Africa who traditionally carved figural representations of spirit spouses.
