SIMPLE ART DECO SMOKY QUARTZ PENDANT WITH DIAMOND ACCENTS ON A 43CM 9CT YELLOW GOLD CHAIN. ELEGANT!

An elegant and simple piece; this slim, marquise-faceted smoky quartz sits on a 9ct yellow gold 'boat', with four large claws holding the gemstone in place. At each point, top and bottom there is a small tactile bobbly feature out of 9ct white gold. There is touch more of the white gold on the bale itself, which is further decorated with two small diamond accents. The whole combination creates lovely colour contrast - the white and yellow gold, the white diamonds and the contrast of the smoky browns and golds of the gemstone. The underneath of the pendant is open, allowing light to refract through the facets and give more life and interest to the gemstone. The pendant hangs from a 43cm 9ct Italian gold link chain that has a lobster close. Measuring 47mm long x 8mm wide x 8mm high, the pendant is quite solid at a weighty but note too heavy 5,41 grams. Beautifully handcrafted and in good condition, the piece bears the jeweller's signature, the 9K and 375 hallmarks indicating 9ct gold. This pieces channels Art Deco - the stylised natural forms of the pendant are uncomplicated and unmistakable. Beautiful and really elegant piece of vintage jewellery.
