UNUSUAL MYSTIC TOPAZ AND DIAMOND
ROSE-HUED STERLING SILVER RING

An unusual piece, this ring features a central oval faceted real mystic topaz claw set in solid sterling silver. The showy topaz features the glorious spectrum of the colours of the rainbow! Surrounding the topaz is an embellished border, almost floral in appearance, of textured sterling silver claw into which 6 x round cut diamonds have been set. The diamonds have been gem-tested and are real but please note - they are very included. The detailing continues down the shoulders of the piece, with an additional 4 x round diamonds claw set in two rows on either side. The shank is quite slender at the bottom for comfort and widens on the shoulders to accommodate the gemstones and to support the 17mm wide x 12mm long ring head, sitting 4mm above the finger. The piece is vintage and there are definitely some buff marks to indicate its age. The silver around the mystic topaz has a distinct pinkish hue. Really not sure how and why. Sterling silver is 92,5% pure silver and 7,5% other alloys so I am wondering if the copper content (normally about 0,5%) is presenting? The ring bears the hallmarks 925 indicating sterling silver and 116/200 indicating that it was one of a limited edition jewellery batch. It does not have an assay mark but I bought if from a vintage jeweller in London, England. The mystic topaz creates an unusual, sparkly and very pretty ring.
