RECTANGULAR SMOKY QUARTZ STERLING SILVER RING. SLENDER, GEOMETRIC DESIGN.

This striking piece features a baguette faceted smoky quartz claw set in sterling silver. Rather unusually, the jeweller has set the smokey quartz gemstone onto a flat bed of pave crystals. You can see the crystals through the gemstone with rather interesting effect! The back of the ring is made of a flat bed of solid sterling silver into which the jeweller has put die-cut holes to allow the light through. The smoky quartz is transparent, and through the gemstone itself, one can see the bed of crystals. Measuring 12mm wide x 20mm long, the ring head is raised 6mm above the finger. It sits on a slim sterling silver band. The piece weighs a solid 5.71 grams and bears the 925 hallmark indicating sterling silver. I have a pair of earrings in the same style and design from the same jeweller.
