UNUSUAL VINTAGE MULTI-BAND 14ct GOLD RING

I was fascinated with this ring the second I saw it. Definitely a vintage piece although the hallmarks are worn so I can't tell you much about it! The only clear hallmark is the one for 14 carat gold. It consists of four separate bands that are quite separate but they have been bonded together with a solid piece of gold at the back to form one broad ring. The colour is a rather nice rose gold. Each band contains a row of real 6 X gemstones. There are 24 gemstones in total: white sapphires - sometimes called "water sapphires" (0,30 carats), emeralds (0,18 carats), turquoise (0,30 carats) and garnets (0,24 carats). The total weight of the ring is 3,6 grams and 13 mm wide across all the band. The back measurement is 7 mm. The ring itself is large and will fit a size 10 (T/half).
It is such a different and appealing ring. One interesting element of the design is the use of contrasting gemstones. The turquoise stones are cabochon but the others are all round faceted. The white sapphires are particularly brilliant cut with wonderful sparkle that creates an interesting contrast. There is something rather special and just a little Bohemian about this vintage piece!
